Lacy Wells

Lacy Wells is an Associate Attorney with Nicholas & Tomasevic, LLP. She has worked for the firm since 2012. Ms. Wells primarily represents consumers and employees in class, collective, and representative actions across California, helping them recover unpaid wages, restitution and penalties. She also litigates business disputes.

In 2017, alongside Alex Tomasevic, Ms. Wells represented a dozen employees who were misclassified as volunteers. During the first phase of trial, the San Diego Superior Court Judge found the three non-profit defendants liable as joint-employers, and returned a verdict for the plaintiffs. In 2016, Ms. Wells won a jury trial in Orange County Superior Court, defeating a complaint for breach of contract and fraud. Ms. Wells has written and successfully argued to obtain documents defendants refuse to turn over, enforce arbitration clauses, remand cases back to state court, and oppose motions to dismiss. Ms. Wells has taken and defended more than two dozen depositions, including parties, third-parties, retained experts and percipient experts.

In 2015, Ms. Wells received her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. While at California Western, she served as a student mediator at Juvenile Hall and Small Claims Court in Vista, California. She earned an academic achievement award for her Trial Practice course. Additionally, Ms. Wells was a summer intern with in-house corporate counsel for a prominent sports and entertainment memorabilia company. Ms. Wells completed her undergraduate education at Northern Arizona University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.

Ms. Wells is admitted to practice before all of the California state trial courts and the United States District Court for the Southern and Central Districts of California. Ms. Wells spends her free time snowboarding, hiking, traveling, and cheering for the Seattle Seahawks.
